What are some signs I need my dryer vent cleaned? Here are the signs that you need your dryer vent cleaned: 1- WET CLOTHING Finding your clothes wet after a 45-minute dryer cycle is a sign your dryer vent is obstructed. The hot, wet air escaping the dryer has nowhere to go, so it lingers within your clothing. You could run your dryer longer, but you increase the risk of starting a fire and raising your energy bill. 2- HOT CLOTHING Grabbing your clothes from the dryer always feels good because they are hot. Typically, your clothes will be warmer than room temperature, but they shouldn’t be hot to the touch. The air is unable to exhaust out of the dryer and builds up within the machine. Clothing or dryers too hot to touch indicate the need for a dryer vent cleaning. 3- SMOKE SMELL Lint is extremely flammable. The smell of smoke from your dryer should prompt you to shut it off immediately and call the fire department. Even though you don’t see flames, you could be smelling the smoke of a small fire starting in your dryer vent.

What’s the harm of poor indoor air quality?Indoor air is vented inside from the outdoors. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the outdoors air is clean, nor does it mean once it’s in the house that it remains clean, even if it begins clean. The outside air can contain many pollutants that are now trapped inside your home and can make their way to you. On the other hand, if the outdoor air is clean, it can still become contaminated once inside. Indoor air can be affected by many factors, especially anything that releases particles or gas, or causes combustion. There are many sources falling under these categories, such as personal-care and cleaning products, building materials, air fresheners, furnishings, carpets, tobacco, fuel products (kerosene, gas, oil, coal, wood), and the list goes on. While one source alone may not be at a danger level, the combination of all sources in your home can contribute to health issues. Many times homeowners assume the people in their homes are suffering from allergies, colds, or the flu, but these symptoms could actually be an alert that the home has poor indoor air quality. Other signs of poor indoor air quality are fatigue, coughing, sneezing, headaches, sore throats, dizziness, nose bleeds, and congestion. Unchecked, poor indoor air quality can trigger or cause the development of more serious, and often, chronic illnesses, or even life-threatening conditions like cancer.

How many different ActivePure Technology air purifications system models are there? We carry an in-duct model and a portable plug-and-play model. Whether you go with the in-duct or portable unit, they are both driven by the same ActivePure Technology, with the only difference being that one is installed in your in-duct unit with nothing else to do, and the portable does require a very simple and easy cleaning about once a month. The portable gives you more flexibility and control of the activated oxygen portion of the system which you may want so that you can turn it up to remove odors when you are away or after cooking items like fish or bacon. Besides that, they are both excellent for allergies, virus protection, etc.

Is ActivePure safe?ActivePure® Technology is derived from NASA Technology as used on the International Space Station. It is the only Certified Space Technology in the world in its class. ActivePure® Technology utilizes a proprietary hydrophilic photo catalytic coating, consisting of non-nano titanium dioxide with a proprietary combination of additional transition elements to enhance efficiency. Activated by a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light, oxygen and humidity are extracted from the air to create a host of powerful oxidizers that target air and surface pollution. These oxidizers are extremely effective at destroying bacteria, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other environmental contaminants. ActivePure Technology does not create harmful chemicals but instead uses oxidizers found naturally occurring in the environment. These oxidizers are not harmful to humans, pets or plants and are complete safe for indoor use.
-
How does ActivePure Technology air purification system work?Units with ActivePure Technology pull free oxygen and water molecules in the air through ActivePure’s patented honeycomb matrix. The technology creates powerful oxidizers, known as ActivePure Molecules, that are then released back into the room, where they seek and destroy DNA and RNA viruses including SARS-CoV-2 (novel coronavirus), Swine Flu (H1N1), Avian Bird Flu (H5N8), Hepatitis A (HAV) and MS2 bacteriophage, regardless of their size, on surfaces and in the air. ActivePure® technology utilizes shortwave UV light to illuminate a “target” surface. The target is a honeycomb matrix treated with a proprietary photocatalytic coating consisting of Titanium Dioxide and a few transition metals to enhance the overall catalytic effect

How many air purifiers will my home or business need to cover the whole place? Both our in-duct and portable units cover 2000 sqft and are considered to be "whole home" units. Depending on the square footage of the home, or business, and the quantity of HVAC systems, you will usually need only one, maybe two units to cover the entire indoor space. If the business has a lot of foot traffic, causing the doors to frequently open and close, more units may need to be installed, as the constant introduction of particles and pollutants requires more units to combat those conditions. If the home or business has ceilings that are higher than 10 ft. throughout, it may also require additional units to be installed. Every situation is unique and may require a walk-through by one of our indoor air quality specialist to assess the needs of your home or business.
-
ActivePure "active" technology vs traditional "passive" systems. What's the difference?ActivePure® is an exclusive environmental technology that can solve many everyday indoor air and surface contamination problems. Traditional passive technologies, such as HEPA, use filtration or electrostatic systems, which remove contaminants only if and when they travel through the purification unit. These traditional filtration systems can help reduce air pollution to a degree, but they do not reduce surface contamination at all and do not adequately reduce airborne contaminants. Our proprietary ActivePure® Technology actively targets contaminants in the air and on surfaces, eliminating them on contact.

How do you clean HVAC coils?During service visits, we always start by inspecting your HVAC equipment to ensure everything is in good condition. Next, we use safe and gentle methods to remove any built-up dirt from your HVAC coils without risking any damage. We use state of the art pressure washing equipment that allows for adjustable use. All condenser coils are different, some will require stronger pressures to remove build up and others will require greater senses of delicacy. Water is pulled from buckets into the pressure washer, where it is then converted to the desired pressure and released via the hand apparatus. Finally, we test your system to ensure it’s performing up to its full potential.
